FUN HOUSE: A Sin City Musical

Highways Performance Space

May 5 & 6, 2017 | 8:30pm

A collision of concert and theater, narrative and freestyle, Fun House is a feverish roller coaster of theatrical acrobatics.

Fun House is the premiere staged song cycle of hip hop/soul duo Sin City (Verbal the Rapper and Icarus V)’s sophomore album of the same name. In collaboration with director Deena Selenow and playwright Bernardo Cubría, Sin City’s inherently theatrical lyrics and storytelling style will serve as the foundation for this visceral narrative about love, not-love, rising high, falling down, f*cking up and friendship.

Sin City met and worked together in NYC after separately exploring various artistic fields, from acting to Slam Poetry– even recording their own solo material for years before joining forces after meeting at NYU. Their varied backgrounds were a perfect blend for developing their Hip-Hop/Soul inspired sound. In Feb 2012, the duo released their debut album, a moody, energetic, and sexy lyrical adventure, entitled The Sin City LP. The duo first collaborated with director Deena Selenow and playwright Bernardo Cubría on the 2015 west coast premiere of Cubría’s play/game show/forum/party The Judgment of Fools, produced by Ammunition Theatre Company.
